If you’re new here
If you’re new here, welcome. I’m Angie, and this is a space where archery, mindfulness, meditation, nature, community, and trauma-informed care meet. I’m so glad you’re here.
I created this work over 16 years ago because I wanted a practice that brought me back to myself in a real way. I needed a way to stand in my POWER and learn to TAKE UP SPACE in a body-based, honest, gentle, and sustainable way. Archery gave me that, and over the years it has given 1,000’s of others all over the world that, as well - a way to be in their bodies, take up space, and practice breath, presence, awareness, release and trust.
What I call Mindful Archery blends archery with mindfulness, inner listening, grounding in nature and body awareness. It is a practice that invites you to slow down, notice what is happening in your body, and learn from the experience of standing in a power stance, breathing, aiming, and letting go. It is not about perfection. It is not about performing. It is about meeting yourself more honestly and building trust with yourself again or for the very first time.
I write here about the things that shape that practice: self-trust, vulnerability, healing, boundaries, embodied awareness, grief, courage, and the way we can return to ourselves through small, steady acts of attention. Everyone is welcome here! You’ll also find reflections from the archery range, the Wheel of The Year (Cedar Circle), mantras, and thoughts on how we build safety in ourselves and with each other.
This space is for people who are curious, tender, overwhelmed, healing, skeptical, open, or somewhere in between. It is for people that fear their power, have been made to feel small, are othered in our world. It is for people who want something real. It is for people who are tired of trying to live up to an invisible standard that doesn’t reflect who they are or what they desire. It is for people who want a practice that honors both their humanity and their nervous system.
What I believe is simple:
Vulnerability is not weakness.
Safety matters.
The body holds wisdom.
Self-trust can be rebuilt.
Community matters.
People deserve gentleness.
If you’re brand new here, I’d suggest starting with my Meditative Archery post, then moving into a few of the essays that explain the heart of this work. You do not have to understand everything at once. You only have to begin.
I’m glad you’re here.
