I was out for a couple of weeks, and now I'm back with a quick little podcast to help you get through these troubled times in the company of others also trying to make it through. We are reaching out to each other even when—and especially when—the powers that be want us separated, isolated, and believing we are alone.
We aren't alone! There are more of us out here that give a shit than those that don't, but the airways may not be accurately reflecting that reality, making us feel helpless and powerless to enact change. But I'm here to say that little things MATTER! Little gatherings, little actions, letters, calls, mutual aid, running to the store for your neighbor, making a meal—IT ALL MATTERS.
In any way that feels safe-ish to you, build what you desire. Look around and be curious about what might need you or benefit from your labor, resources, presence, love, empathy, and wonder—then show up or build it. Say YES to yourself and others, building a greater capacity to love and be loved.
All of this scares POWER because power can't control what you willingly give—your vulnerability, empathy, care, support, resources, trust—and that is magic, and that is resistance.
You don't have to do this whole hog. You can venture in with boundaries, with curiosity, and explore the possibilities of what can be if you open yourself to allowing more of what is good and giving out the good that you have.
This podcast, the Cedar Circle, archery meetups, New and Full Moon archery, and Archery for Resistance are a few of the ways I’m building resistance and communities of care.
What are you doing? I’d love to know the unique ways you are resisting so we can continue to share our knowledge.
Love,
Angie
